Yes, that's actually some kind of exaggerated real life experience. Where nobody managed to clear the side-walk so far, snow was at least ankle-high and wading through it could be considered a work-out. I love it! I wouldn't say that if my train hadn't been on time, of course...
There are some problems that come with this, though. We already have some experience in it form last winter. The main problem is that at some point (and we're getting there), nobody will know where to put the snow that should be cleared from side-walks and streets. At the parking lot near the station, snow mountains are already about 4 metres wide and higher than the guy I saw walk in front of them. Snowploughs push the snow from the streets onto the side-walks, from where residents will push it back onto the streets. Crossing the pedestrian crossing is difficult because you have to conquer two walls of snow: one to get to the street, and one to get to the other side-walk.

It is still snowing.
