i have a question... every time i try to include an image, when i put the URL in, it just turns into one of those [link] things...

Hmm... We're talking about journals, right? And you're not using CSS, so that can't be the problem.
Are you sure you're using it right? Your code should look like this: <img src="Image URL address" alt="Name of Image" /> and you should be sure that you have not deleted a space or ".
Maybe, if you can't get it to work, you could show me what you wrote and I'll try to find the mistake.

hmm i tried it again here: [link] at the very bottom line, still shows up like this: <img src="[link]" alt="Abstract Space"/> Abstract Space, color pencil (grovejustin): color pencil - [link] Digital - [link]

this is the coding (without the spaces after http and after ://): <img src="http :// th09.deviantart.net/fs71/150/i/2010/192/1/0/Abstract_Space_by_vivsters.jpg" alt="Abstract Space"/>

Oh, that's easy. For some reason the code is wrong in my comment as well and you're missing an important part. Just go here: FAQ #81: How can I make links to other deviants, deviations, or websites? and copy the image linking code. You have to enter two URL addresses, that's important. One for the website you got the image from and one for the image itself.

this is what i did (without the *):

and it's still the same =( don't know why... [link]

Hm, then I don't know. Admittedly, I'm not exactly sure this could work. Premium Members can just show thumbs of dA works they want to present in their journals, giving almost the same opportunity to normal members wouldn't be very efficient, would it?
The FAQ don't say whether image linking works for non-subscribers, but maybe that's the case...
