deviantART's 11th BirthdAy: Let's Celebrate!
August 7th, 2011 marks deviantART's 11th birthdAy, but in true devious style, we're taking a whole week to celebrate! Our original plans for Deviants Appreciation Day were so huge that there was no possible way to express our love for the community in a mere 24 hours. Instead, we've created Deviants Appreciation Week, and what better time to host a week's worth of community-oriented events than in the days leading up to our birthdAy?
Each day this week, we have something special organized for you to participate in! Check out the schedule of events below to come party with us!
In Skribble, our latest community contest, we challenge

DLD Summer Contest: RESULTS! by DailyLitDeviations, journal
DLD Summer Contest: RESULTS!
Apologies for the wait...
We had 59 entries to the Summer Contest. People connected their characters through carnivorous stones, lost hats, curtains, magic shoes and much more. The stories were touching, funny, sad, and outrageous. I want to thank everyone who put in time and effort to make these entries shine. It was extraordinarily difficult for the judges to score and choose just three winners (particularly with one of them having no access to the internet for a month ^^;), but we did it! And here are the results.

Art History Project- September is Literature!
:new: 30/08/12: Almost ready to launch! Alongside this month, inknalcohol (https://www.deviantart.com/inknalcohol) is conducting a series of cheeky lit interviews for Art History, so keep an eye out for what he uncovers!
There are still lots of slots for people to submit articles too! Don't forget, we can have more than one article on the same day! Please get those proposals in! Who is your favourite author? What Book/Poem has had the most influence on you? Bring it on!
24/08/12: Hey guys, we're still looking to fill this up nice and meaty! Don't forget, the articles don't have to be as in depth as some of you are thinking and can be about specific authors, styles or even some

Inspiration Project Take Two: September
Hi, everybody!
Apologies for August, but we're back on track, now!
The rules of the Inspiration Project remain as follows: Visit the gallery of one of the deviants on the list below, find something that inspires you, and write no more than one story per week (we'd prefer more than one a month, if you can manage it, though!), following all the rules for stories of the group, to this gallery right here.
Remember, You Do Not Have to Be on the List to Participate, but to be on next month's list, you have to submit a story this month.
This month's list consists of all the deviants who submitted in July and August, because of the oversight.

i am living the fuckin' dream. if i'm not here, i'm at work... don't wait up. i'd rather spend 14 hours a day on my feet there (which i did today, after being on for the last six days) than 14 hours sitting on my ass in front of my computer any ol' day of the week.
did you know that you can have more than one dream in life? why limit yourself to one? what happens when you fuck it up? call life quits? fuck that shit -- stop feeling sorry for yourself and go find something else to do. you haven't figured it all out yet, you're not that smart. my going to culinary school and being a cook and moving to Vegas (which felt like a punishment
I signed up on Redbubble a couple of days ago, where I'm slowly adding my works. For now only cards, prints and posters but I'm thinking about some stickers too. I'm not sure about clothing items.
Anyway, you can find me here: Redbubble
Plus, I already had an account on Artflakes but there were only four old pics. So I'm updating my artworks there too: Artflakes
Over the years, some people have asked me if and where I was selling my art. Now I can finally reply with something good!
Truthfully, I'm planning on printing by myself all kind of stuff like bookmarks, cards, etc. and not using any other site but my own for selling it. I plan to
Write and Revise Contest: Part 1 by DailyLitDeviations, journal
Write and Revise Contest: Part 1
You thought we were going to let you rest after the Summer Contest, huh? Wrong! We're back with a two-parter to hopefully get you both creating and editing, as all good writers must. This contest is brought to you by VertigoArt (https://www.deviantart.com/vertigoart), who has rejoined the ranks of DLD as our contest and affiliate admin! :eager: Please go give him some love.
Part 1: Go Wild!
The first part of the contest is relatively simple: write something. It can be a journal, a stream of consciousness, a scrap of a poem, an idea you've had for ages or one that comes to you in a burst of inspiration.
This part of the contest is open from August 11th to September 11th, 201
